Engineered for the Elements. Not Just Resistant to Them.

Every SunBrite is built around a powder-coated aluminum chassis with weatherproof gaskets sealing the media bay and cable entry points. IP55 rating across the lineup means dust-protected and resistant to water jets from any direction. Designed for permanent outdoor installation through all four Pacific Northwest seasons.

Why a Real Outdoor TV

An Indoor TV Outside Is a Failure Waiting to Happen.

It's a common assumption: put a TV under a covered patio and it'll be fine. It won't. Indoor TVs are sealed plastic enclosures with ventilation slots designed for indoor temperature ranges (roughly 50°F to 95°F) and indoor humidity. Move them outside and the failures stack up. Humidity and condensation reach the circuit boards. Pollen and dust block the cooling vents. Below-freezing nights cause LCDs to delaminate. Summer heat trips thermal protection. Insects nest inside the enclosure. Salt air corrodes the connectors. And the manufacturer warranty on an indoor TV is voided the moment it goes outside.

SunBrite designs every panel, chassis, gasket, and circuit board for permanent outdoor installation. Powder-coated aluminum casing instead of vented plastic. Sealed media bays with compression gaskets. Operating temperature ranges that span from -24°F winters to 122°F summers depending on the model. IP55 ingress protection. IP56-rated weatherproof remotes. The result is a television that lives outside through every season the Pacific Northwest can throw at it.

The Current SunBrite Lineup

Five Series. Specified by Sun Exposure.

SunBrite organizes its lineup around one critical install factor: how much direct sunlight the TV will see. A TV designed for a covered porch costs less and renders beautifully in shade, but will wash out at noon in full sun. A full-sun model has anti-glare optics and brightness pushed high enough to fight the sky overhead. Picking the right sun tier is the most important decision we make together during your consultation.

Which Series for You?

We Help You Choose.

Site Visit · Sun Analysis · Free Quote

Specifying the right SunBrite means looking at the install location at different times of day. We visit your home, evaluate sun exposure at the proposed location, factor in reflected light from pools or light-colored decking, and recommend the right series and size for the space. No guesswork.

Reflected light counts too.

One of the most common outdoor TV mistakes is specifying a full-shade Veranda for a covered patio that sits next to a pool, light stone hardscape, or large windows that reflect the sky. The TV is in shade, but the ambient light hitting the screen is closer to partial sun. SunBrite has confirmed this in their own product documentation. We factor reflected light into every site evaluation.

SunBrite outdoor TV installed above stone fireplace in covered patio with ceiling speakers Pacific Northwest installation by VIP Smart Homes

Covered Patios & Outdoor Rooms

The most common SunBrite install in our market: a covered patio with a stone fireplace, ceiling-mounted speakers, and the TV positioned for game days and movie nights. A Veranda 3 or Veranda 4 is the right specification here. The TV becomes the focal point of the outdoor room, integrates with your interior audio system over the same control platform, and disappears under an optional dust cover when the season changes.

Typical pairing: Veranda 4 or Veranda 3 + Episode landscape speakers + your existing Control4 or whole-home audio source.

Rooftop Decks & Penthouse Terraces

For elevated outdoor entertaining spaces in Bellevue and downtown Seattle, the TV often anchors a stone or tile feature wall with city or water views beyond. These installs typically need a Pro 2 or Solis full-sun model because of reflected light from neighboring glass towers, water, and unshaded sky. Long HDBaseT runs from a centralized AV rack keep the install clean with no visible equipment.

Typical pairing: Pro 2 or Solis + AV Pro Edge HDBaseT distribution + dedicated outdoor speakers.

Pergolas & Partially Exposed Mounts

Open pergolas, slatted sun shades, and partially exposed mounting locations are where the engineering really matters. The TV will see direct rain, snow, and wind-blown debris depending on the season. IP55 weatherproof construction means the panel survives water jets from any direction and dust ingress is fully blocked. The powder-coated aluminum chassis resists rust and salt corrosion. The IP56 remote can be wiped down and keeps working.

Native Streaming Built In

The Veranda 3 runs Android TV with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for direct streaming from Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, Prime Video, and the rest. The Veranda 4 and Solis run webOS 2.0 with the same app ecosystem and voice control. No external streaming box hidden in the weatherproof media bay, no extra remote, no HDMI handshake issues to chase. Existing music or movies from your interior audio system can still be pushed to the outdoor TV over HDMI or AirPlay through Control4 or Sonos integration.

What You're Buying

Outdoor TVs Are a Different Category.

It's worth setting honest expectations. A SunBrite is not trying to match a flagship Sony OLED or Samsung QD-OLED for absolute picture quality. Side by side in a dark living room, a top-tier indoor TV will produce deeper blacks, broader color, better motion handling, and superior off-axis performance. That's the indoor TV's job, and they're outstanding at it.

A SunBrite's job is different. It survives outside. It runs all summer through 90°F afternoons and all winter through freezing nights. It shrugs off rain and snow. Its anti-glare optics (on the Signature, Pro, and Solis series) cut sky reflection in a way no indoor TV can. Its powder-coated aluminum shell doesn't corrode in salt air. And it carries a manufacturer warranty that covers outdoor use, where every indoor TV warranty explicitly does not.

So the right way to think about a SunBrite isn't "is this as good as the TV in my living room?" The right question is "do I want a television in my outdoor space at all, knowing an indoor TV won't last out there?" If yes, SunBrite is the most established outdoor TV brand in the dealer channel and the right specification for almost every Pacific Northwest outdoor space. If picture-quality perfection in a climate-controlled room is the goal, we'll spec you a Sony Bravia for inside and a SunBrite for the deck.

Warranty Coverage

Verified SunBrite Manufacturer Warranty

Warranty terms below are verified directly from SunBriteTV.com as of November 2025. Coverage applies when the TV is purchased from an authorized SunBrite reseller and installed for the original consumer.

2-Year Parts & Labor Coverage

  • Solis: full sun, 2025 generation
  • Signature 2: partial sun
  • Pro 2: full sun, commercial grade
  • Marquee: commercial outdoor display
  • Veranda 4: full shade, 2025 generation

1-Year Parts & Labor Coverage

  • Veranda 2: full shade, prior generation
  • Veranda 3: full shade, current generation

Per SunBriteTV's published Limited Warranty, the manufacturer provides parts and labor to repair defective components either on-site or at SunBrite's Charlotte, NC facility for the period listed. Warranty applies to residential and commercial installations purchased from an authorized SunBrite reseller. International shipments are excluded. Coverage does not extend to physical damage, improper installation, unauthorized modifications, or use outside the operating temperature range. A small note from VIP Smart Homes: while SunBrite covers parts and the labor of their own repair work, our labor to remove the TV from the install location, package it for return shipping, receive the replacement, and reinstall is not covered by the manufacturer warranty. Reinstallation labor is billed separately if a warranty event occurs after the initial install.

The Outdoor Ecosystem

Your Outdoor TV Should Talk to Everything Else.

A SunBrite installed in isolation is just an outdoor television. A SunBrite integrated into your whole-home system is part of a single outdoor experience. The Veranda 4 and Solis natively support OvrC Pro, which means our service team can monitor the TV remotely, push firmware updates, and diagnose issues without rolling a truck. Pair it with Episode landscape audio, Lutron motorized shades on adjacent windows, Lutron outdoor lighting scenes, and Control4 or Apple HomeKit for one-button "Outdoor Movie Night" automation, and the result is a connected outdoor room rather than a screen on a wall.

AV Pro Edge HDBaseT distribution lets us run uncompressed 4K HDR signal over a single Cat6 cable from your indoor AV rack to the outdoor TV, with bidirectional control and audio return all on one wire. Clean wiring, no compromise.

Common Questions

Everything You Want to Know About Outdoor TVs

Below are the questions we hear most often from homeowners researching outdoor televisions. If you don't find your answer here, the consultation is always free.

Why can't I just put a regular TV outside under my covered patio?

Indoor TVs are sealed plastic enclosures with cooling vents designed for indoor temperatures (roughly 50°F to 95°F) and indoor humidity. Outside, humidity reaches the boards, pollen and dust clog the vents, freezing nights delaminate the LCD, summer heat trips thermal protection, and insects nest inside. The bigger issue: every major TV manufacturer's warranty is voided the moment the TV is installed outdoors. SunBrite is engineered for permanent outdoor installation with a warranty that covers exactly that use case.

What's the difference between full shade, partial sun, and full sun models?

Sun exposure determines which series fits your space. Full shade (Veranda 4, Veranda 3) is for fully covered patios, screened porches, and gazebos with no direct sun reaching the screen. Partial sun (Signature 2) is for filtered or dappled sunlight, like a deck with an open pergola or a partial canopy. Full sun (Pro 2, Solis) is for poolside, rooftops, and unshaded south-facing mounts where the screen will see direct sunlight during the day. We visit the install location to confirm sun exposure at different times before specifying the model.

How does a SunBrite compare to a Sony or Samsung indoor TV for picture quality?

A flagship Sony Bravia or Samsung QD-OLED will outperform a SunBrite on absolute picture quality in a dark indoor room. That's not a knock on SunBrite, it's the physics of outdoor TVs prioritizing weatherproofing, anti-glare optics, and high brightness over the picture-quality tradeoffs flagship indoor TVs make. What matters is that no Sony or Samsung indoor TV survives outdoors, and their warranties don't cover outdoor use. SunBrite is the right tool for the outdoor job. We spec Sony Bravia for indoor displays and SunBrite for outdoor in the same project all the time.

Will the picture wash out in direct sunlight?

It depends on the model and the install. Full-shade Veranda models are specified for covered locations and will look washed out in direct sun (which is why we don't install them there). Signature 2 handles partial sun. The Pro 2 and Solis full-sun models push 1,500 nits of brightness with anti-glare and IR-reduction optics, and remain readable in direct sunlight. SunBrite's own product documentation is direct about this: pick the wrong sun tier and the screen will be hard to see. Pick the right one and it works in the conditions it's designed for.

Are SunBrite TVs available at Best Buy or Amazon?

Some legacy SunBrite models appear at consumer retail, but the current professional lineup (Veranda 4, Solis, and most Signature 2 and Pro 2 SKUs) flows through the authorized dealer channel. Buying through a certified dealer means we handle specification, install, integration with the rest of your AV and control system, and any warranty events. It also means the TV is mounted on the correct outdoor-rated bracket with sealed cable entry, not a generic indoor TV mount that will rust.

What sizes are available?

Sizes vary by series. The current SunBrite lineup spans roughly 43″ through 75″ depending on model. Veranda 3 comes in 55″, 65″, and 75″. Veranda 4 launched in 65″ and 75″ with 49″ and 55″ planned for mid 2026. Pro 2 covers 43″ through 65″. Solis covers 49″ through 75″. We confirm current availability with our distribution channel before quoting.

Can the TV stream Netflix and Apple TV+ directly?

The Veranda 3 runs Android TV with built-in apps for Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, Prime Video, YouTube, and Spotify. The Veranda 4 and Solis run webOS 2.0 with the same major apps. The Signature 2 and Pro 2 do not include a built-in smart platform, so we typically install an Apple TV or similar streaming box inside the weatherproof media bay. The media bay is sized and sealed to accommodate standard streaming devices and baluns.

What's the operating temperature range?

Verified ranges from SunBrite's product documentation: Veranda 3 operates from -24°F to 104°F. Signature 2 and Pro 2 operate from -24°F to 122°F. Storage temperature ranges extend to 140°F. The Pacific Northwest climate falls comfortably inside these ranges in every season we encounter.

What does the IP55 rating actually mean?

IP55 is an Ingress Protection rating defined by IEC standard 60529. The first digit (5) means the enclosure is dust-protected: dust ingress is limited and cannot interfere with operation. The second digit (5) means the enclosure is protected against water jets from any direction. In practical terms, you can hose down a SunBrite to clean it, and rain and snow do not reach the internal electronics. The remote on Veranda 3 carries an even higher IP56 rating, meaning protection against powerful water jets.

How does the TV integrate with Control4, Sonos, or HomeKit?

SunBrite TVs support standard IP control and IR control, with native drivers available for Control4, Crestron, Savant, and Apple HomeKit. The Veranda 3 supports IP control with Wake-on-LAN, and the Veranda 4 adds native OvrC Pro integration for remote diagnostics from our service team. Audio routing back to Sonos or whole-home audio is straightforward over HDMI ARC or eARC. We program every integration as part of the install.

Do the built-in speakers sound any good?

They're adequate for casual viewing and significantly upgraded on Veranda 3 (2×10W) compared to older generations, but no built-in TV speaker (indoor or outdoor) compares to a dedicated audio system. For outdoor TV installs we almost always pair the SunBrite with a SunBrite all-weather soundbar or with Episode landscape speakers integrated into your outdoor audio zones. The TV's built-in 20W amp can drive a passive SunBrite soundbar, which keeps wiring simple for entry-level installs.

How much does a SunBrite installation cost?

The TV itself is one line item. A complete outdoor TV install typically includes the TV, an outdoor-rated articulating or fixed mount, weatherproof power and signal cabling, integration with your AV rack and control system, and any required adjacent work such as adding an outdoor power outlet or running HDBaseT back to a centralized rack. A 55″ Veranda 3 install in a covered patio with simple cabling and basic integration typically falls in the mid four figures fully installed. A 75″ Pro 2 on a rooftop with long HDBaseT runs, a new outdoor audio zone, and Control4 integration scales up from there. Full written quotes after the site visit.

What's the warranty and what does it cover?

SunBrite covers parts and labor for two years on Solis, Signature 2, Pro 2, Marquee, and Veranda 4 models, and one year on Veranda 2 and Veranda 3 models, when purchased from an authorized reseller. Repair is performed either on-site or at SunBrite's Charlotte, NC facility. Warranty does not cover physical damage, improper installation, or use outside the rated operating temperature range. VIP Smart Homes' labor to remove the TV for warranty service and reinstall after return is not included in the manufacturer warranty.

Where do you install SunBrite outdoor TVs?

VIP Smart Homes is an authorized SunBrite dealer serving Seattle, Bellevue, Medina, Mercer Island, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point, Yarrow Point, Kirkland, Sammamish, and Issaquah. We also handle outdoor TV installs across the Greater Seattle area, the Pacific Northwest, and select projects nationally and internationally.

Ready for a Television That Lives Outside?

Every outdoor TV install starts with a site visit. We evaluate sun exposure, mounting location, cable routing, and integration with your existing system before recommending a specific SunBrite model. The consultation is complimentary.
