Sony Bravia display professionally installed in luxury living room with concealed wiring | VIP Smart Homes Seattle Bellevue
Why Sony. Why Every Time.

The Picture That Changes Everything

We have installed displays from every major manufacturer. We keep coming back to Sony. Not because of a logo on a spec sheet. Because of what we see on the wall, in the room, under every lighting condition, year after year.

Sony's Cognitive Processor XR makes everything you watch look the way the director intended. Skin tones look human. Motion looks natural. Dark scenes have depth without crushing detail into black. It is the difference between a TV that impresses you in a showroom and one that satisfies you in your home, every single day.

Native Apple AirPlay 2, Google Home, HDMI 2.1, and Dolby Vision means every Bravia fits cleanly into the Control4 and Lutron ecosystems we build around it.

The Lineup

Sony Bravia Display Family

We specify from Sony's full Bravia lineup, choosing the right panel technology for each room based on ambient light, viewing distance, and how you use the space.

Sony A95L QD-OLED Reference Display 77 inch

A95L

QD-OLED Reference Display

Widely regarded as one of the finest televisions Sony has ever produced. Samsung QD-OLED panel driven by Sony's Cognitive Processor XR delivers perfect pixel level blacks, infinite contrast, and a color volume no conventional display can match. Acoustic Surface Audio+ produces sound directly from the screen itself through actuators behind the panel.

Currently produced in 77" (the 55" and 65" sizes are replaced by the Bravia 8 II)
Best for: Dedicated theaters, screening rooms, and serious cinematic environments where 77" is the right scale.
Sony Bravia 9 Flagship Mini LED Display

Bravia 9

Flagship Mini LED

Sony's current flagship Mini LED redefined what LCD technology is capable of. XR Backlight Master Drive controls thousands of dimming zones for peak brightness in the 3,000 nit range during real world HDR playback, while maintaining black levels that rival OLED. X-Wide Angle and X-Anti Reflection deliver flawless viewing in bright, sunlit rooms.

Available in 65", 75", and 85"
Best for: Primary living rooms, great rooms, and media rooms with significant ambient light.
Sony Bravia 8 II QD-OLED Display 55 inch 65 inch

Bravia 8 II

QD-OLED

Successor to the A95L at 55" and 65", built on the second-generation QD-OLED panel with improved brightness, wider color volume, and refined XR processing. Delivers approximately 25% higher peak brightness than the A95L it replaces, with the same Acoustic Surface Audio+ system for seamless image to sound connection.

Available in 55" and 65"
Best for: Media rooms with moderate light control, premium bedrooms, and spaces where QD-OLED quality is desired in 55" or 65".
Sony Bravia 7 Premium Mini LED Display

Bravia 7

Premium Mini LED

Inherits the Bravia 9's XR Backlight Master Drive and Cognitive Processor XR, delivering approximately 2,000 nits with excellent local dimming and color accuracy. Fewer dimming zones and lower peak brightness than the flagship, but at a meaningfully lower investment.

Available in 55", 65", 75", and 85"
Best for: Secondary living areas, large bedrooms, home offices, and multi display installations.
Sony Bravia 5 Mini LED Display 98 inch

Bravia 5

Mini LED

New for 2025, the Bravia 5 brings Mini LED backlighting into a more attainable price tier. Notably better contrast and HDR than any standard LED, with the same XR Processor and natural picture quality that define the Bravia brand. 120Hz panel with VRR for gaming.

Available in 55", 65", 75", 85", and 98"
Best for: Guest rooms, children's rooms, workout spaces, and the 98" model for massive screen installations at exceptional value.

Coming This Year: A New Tier Above the Bravia 9

Sony has spent the last year showing dealers and journalists a new generation of Mini LED display technology under embargo. Marketed as True RGB, it replaces the white-LED-plus-quantum-dot backlight in today's flagship Bravia 9 with individually controlled red, green, and blue Mini LEDs, paired with up to 15,000 dimming zones and peak brightness approaching 4,000 nits. Reviewers who have seen prototypes side by side with the Bravia 9 describe wider color gamut, more dimensional images, and black levels that rival OLED.

The first True RGB Bravia models are expected to launch later this year as a new premium tier sitting above the Bravia 9. If you are planning a media room, theater, or great room installation where the display defines the space, let's scope the rest of the system now so everything is ready to integrate the moment Sony's flagship ships.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Sony Bravia

OLED or Mini LED?

OLED (A95L and Bravia 8 II) delivers perfect blacks and infinite contrast, ideal for dark, light controlled rooms. Mini LED (Bravia 9, 7, 5) delivers extreme brightness and glare resistance, ideal for bright rooms with windows. Many homes use both: OLED in the theater, Mini LED in the living room.

What size display should I get?

It depends on viewing distance and room size. At 8 to 10 feet, a 75 to 85 inch display is typically ideal. At 6 to 8 feet, 65 inch works well. For large great rooms at 12+ feet, consider 85 to 98 inch. We assess your specific room and recommend the right size during consultation.

What's the difference between the A95L and the Bravia 8 II?

The A95L is Sony's 2023 QD-OLED flagship, now produced in 77 inch only. The Bravia 8 II is the 2025 successor available in 55 inch and 65 inch, built on the second-generation QD-OLED panel with approximately 25% higher peak brightness, wider color volume, and refined XR processing. For 77 inch, the A95L is still the only option in Sony's QD-OLED lineup, and it still performs at reference grade.

Is professional calibration worth it?

Yes. Out of the box, every TV ships in a mode designed to look bright in a showroom, not accurate in your home. Professional ISF calibration adjusts color temperature, gamma, white balance, and color points to deliver the image the way it was mastered. It is the difference between impressive and correct.

Can you distribute video to every TV in the house?

Yes. We install 4K HDR video distribution systems that send any source to any screen. Watch Apple TV in the theater, pause, and resume in the bedroom. All managed from your Control4 app or any keypad. Learn more about Home Theaters →

Do you handle the mounting and wiring?

Everything. We select the right mount type (articulating, fixed, tilt, or in-wall recessed), run power and HDMI inside the wall, and position the display at the optimal height and angle. The finished install looks intentional and architectural, not aftermarket.

What about soundbars and audio?

For the best experience, we recommend dedicated speakers rather than soundbars, whether that is Focal in wall speakers, Stealth Acoustics invisible speakers, Episode architectural speakers, or a full Atmos theater system. But for rooms where a soundbar is the right fit, we install and integrate those as well.

What is Sony's True RGB display technology?

True RGB is Sony's next generation Mini LED backlight, replacing today's white-LED-plus-quantum-dot backlights with individually controlled red, green, and blue Mini LEDs. The result is wider color gamut, higher peak brightness (approaching 4,000 nits), and OLED-rivaling black levels. Sony's first True RGB Bravia models are expected to launch later this year as a new premium tier sitting above the Bravia 9.
