The AC-EX100-444-KIT is the workhorse: 100 meters of full 18 Gbps 4K60 4:4:4 HDR with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG. It carries eARC for clean Atmos and DTS:X passthrough back to a soundbar or AVR. What's the difference between HDBaseT and AV over IP?
HDBaseT runs a single source's signal point to point over a CAT cable. It's reliable, simple, and ideal for runs from a rack to a fixed display. AV over IP, like AVPro's MXnet platform, distributes signals over a network switch. Any source can go to any display, video walls and multiviews are native, and the system scales by adding endpoints. For homes with more than a handful of zones, MXnet is usually the right answer. For straight rack to display runs, an extender is simpler and just as bulletproof.
Will it integrate with my Control4, Crestron, or RTI system?
Yes. AVPro Edge ships drivers for all major AV control systems, and we handle the integration as part of every installation. Switching, source selection, and volume all work from your existing keypads, touch panels, and apps. RTI is owned by AVPro Global, the same parent company as AVPro Edge, so the integration is especially tight.
Can AVPro Edge handle 4K120 gaming?
Yes. The AC-MX-88X, AC-MX-44X, AC-MX-42X, and the AC-DA-X2 series of distribution amplifiers all support full 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1, including 4K120, VRR, ALLM, eARC, and Source Based Tone Mapping. The signal that leaves your PS5 or Xbox Series X is the signal that arrives at your display.
What's "Invisible Compression Technology" and does it actually look identical?
ICT is AVPro's proprietary compression algorithm that lets full 18 Gbps HDMI signals travel over CAT cable. In side by side blind tests against an uncompressed direct cable run, even trained evaluators couldn't reliably tell the difference. The compression is mathematically lossy, but the visual impact is below the threshold of human perception.
How far can an HDBaseT extender actually run?
The AC-EX100-444-KIT carries full 18 Gbps 4K60 4:4:4 HDR up to 100 meters (about 328 feet) over CAT6a. For longer runs or 8K, the AC-EXO-X-PLUS-KIT carries full 48 Gbps over multimode OM4 fiber up to 300 meters (about 984 feet). For long distance commercial work, the AC-EXO-444-KIT extends 18 Gbps over single mode fiber up to 2 kilometers.
Are premium HDMI cables like Bullet Train actually worth it?
For a six foot run from a TV to an Apple TV, virtually any certified HDMI cable will work. The difference shows up at distance, at full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, and over time.
