4K Cinematic & 8K Player · K0880-0000The highest fidelity movie player Kaleidescape makes, and the first player certified by the 8K Association. It plays the exclusive 4K Cinematic format, with full chroma up to 4:4:4 and up to four times the color information of disc or streaming, plus native 8K in SDR and HDR10. HDMI 2.1 at up to 24 Gbps and a full time 4K interface.
Strato V
4K Movie Player · K0701-0000The reference 4K player and the first Kaleidescape player to add Dolby Vision. A single anodized aluminum box with an enterprise class 960 GB SSD that holds roughly ten 4K movies out of the gate, so it works beautifully on its own or as the anchor of a larger system. HDMI 2.1 with digital audio outputs for legacy processors.
Strato E
4K Movie Player · K0703-0000The most accessible route into a true 4K Kaleidescape system, and a CEDIA 2025 Hot Product Award winner. It shares the Strato V spec sheet for picture and sound, with Dolby Vision and HDR10, in a smaller, quieter package. A 480 GB SSD stores about six 4K titles, and it scales the moment you add a Terra server.
Strato C
4K Movie Player · K0217-0000Purpose built for whole home systems. The Strato C has no onboard movie storage and instead plays from one or more Terra servers, so you can place several around the home and share one library. It adds a separate HDMI audio output that feeds legacy AV receivers their audio while a second HDMI carries 4K video to the display.

What is Kaleidescape?
Kaleidescape is a high fidelity home movie system. Movies download from the Kaleidescape Movie Store to a local player or server and play back with truly lossless audio and reference quality video, rather than being streamed. Because the files come straight from studio masters at bitrates up to 100 Mbps, the picture and sound are noticeably better than streaming or Blu-ray, with no buffering and no drop in quality.
How is Kaleidescape different from streaming or a disc player?
Streaming services compress heavily and change quality based on your network. What are 4K Cinematic and native 8K on the Strato K?
4K Cinematic is a Kaleidescape exclusive format with full color detail up to 4:4:4 chroma and ultra high bitrates, carrying up to four times the color information of a disc or streaming. Native 8K plays true 8K content in SDR and HDR10. The Strato K was the first movie player certified by the 8K Association, and it remains the only Kaleidescape player to offer both.
Do I need a Terra movie server?
Not always. The Strato M, E, V, and K all have onboard storage and can run on their own. The Strato C has no onboard storage and requires a Terra server. Adding a server, whether the compact Mini Terra Prime, a Compact Terra, or the full size Terra Prime 120 TB, lets you store a much larger library and share it across multiple players and rooms.
How many movies can the system hold?
It depends on the components. A 480 GB player like the Strato E or M holds about six 4K titles, while a 960 GB Strato V or K holds around ten. Servers scale far higher: the Mini Terra Prime stores roughly 125 4K movies, and the flagship Terra Prime 120 TB holds a large whole home library. Systems support up to four servers and any number of players.
Does Kaleidescape integrate with Lutron, Crestron, Control4, Savant, and Josh.AI?
Yes. Kaleidescape integrates natively with Josh.AI, Crestron, Control4, and Savant, and works directly with Lutron RadioRA 3 and HomeWorks over Ethernet. Can I rent movies, or do I have to buy them?
Both. You can buy titles and own them outright, or rent them, often for prices comparable to other digital rentals. Select new releases are available early as premium rentals while they are still in theaters. The US Movie Store carries roughly 15,000 titles, and the built in kAI search lets you find films using natural language.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. There is no subscription to own and use a Kaleidescape system. You pay for the hardware and for the movies you choose to buy or rent, and the titles you purchase are yours. You can register up to five systems to one Movie Store account, so your library follows you across homes.
What is the warranty, and where is it made?
New Strato players and Terra Prime servers carry a five year limited warranty. Kaleidescape products are assembled in the USA in a solar powered factory, and the kOS operating system updates automatically. We register every system we install and handle any warranty support on your behalf.
