Ketra Requires the Right Foundation
Ketra is engineered to work with three Lutron control platforms only. HomeWorks QSX for residential, Athena for commercial, and myRoom XC for hospitality. There is no standalone Ketra. Without one of these systems, the fixtures cannot run their Natural Show, recall scenes, schedule transitions, or coordinate across rooms.
For the homes we design, that means HomeWorks QSX is the recommended foundation in nearly every case. It is the only Lutron residential system that supports Ketra natively, alongside the broader catalog of Lutron's intelligent lighting and motorized shades. RadioRA 3 is a fantastic system for many luxury homes, but it does not support Ketra. If Ketra is on the design, HomeWorks is the platform.
Through HomeWorks, Ketra is controllable from designer keypads, the Lutron App on iOS and Android, and voice platforms including Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri via HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Josh.AI. Brightness, color, vibrancy, and temperature are all addressable.

Can Ketra be added to an existing home?
Yes. Ketra fixtures are wireless and individually addressable, so they can be installed in most existing homes without rewiring. The catch is that Ketra requires a HomeWorks QSX system to function. We assess your home and recommend whether a HomeWorks installation makes sense alongside the Ketra retrofit.
Does Ketra require a Lutron control system?
Yes. Ketra is engineered to work natively with Lutron HomeWorks QSX for residential projects, plus Athena and myRoom XC for commercial and hospitality. Ketra does not work with RadioRA 3, Caséta, or non Lutron control platforms. A Lutron processor is required to unlock Ketra's full range of tuning, scheduling, and automation.
What fixture types are available?

Can Ketra be used outdoors?
No. Ketra fixtures are rated for indoor use only. For exterior architectural lighting, we specify other Lutron compatible fixtures that integrate with the same HomeWorks system controlling your Ketra interiors.
How does Ketra dim differently than standard LEDs?
Standard LEDs hold a fixed color temperature as they dim. The light just gets less bright. Ketra uses Natural Dimming, which shifts the color along the black body curve as intensity drops, mimicking the warm fade of incandescent or candlelight. What's the warranty and lifespan?
Ketra comes with a 5 year warranty from date of shipment. Fixtures are rated for 50,000 hours of lumen maintenance to L70 with continuous Color Lock correction, so the light on year one is the same light on year ten. Color point is maintained to a one step MacAdam Ellipse over the entire lifetime of the product.
Can I control Ketra by voice or app?
Yes. Through the underlying HomeWorks system, Ketra is fully controllable from the Lutron App on iOS and Android, plus voice platforms including Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri via HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Josh.AI. You can adjust brightness, color, color temperature, and vibrancy from any of them.
How does Ketra compare to standard LEDs?
Standard LEDs emit a fixed color temperature and tend to drift in color over time. Ketra produces full spectrum tunable light across 16.7 million colors with Color Lock to maintain consistency for the life of the fixture. The four channel light engine, factory calibration, and TruBeam optics combine to do something no conventional LED can: behave like real sunlight.
