Announced May 2026 · Sony True RGB

The Best Display We Have Ever Seen

In May 2026, Sony lifted the curtain on its first True RGB televisions, the Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II.

Instead of a white LED filtered through colored layers, Sony True RGB drives individually controlled red, green, and blue Mini LEDs through the new RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro. The result, in Sony's own words, is the largest color volume in the company's home TV history, paired with peak brightness independently measured by reviewers at roughly 4,000 nits, near OLED black levels, and wide off axis viewing.

Across the displays we have evaluated over the last twenty years, nothing has come closer to a reference mastering monitor in a real living room than the Sony Bravia 9 II.

Why Sony. Why Every Time.

The Picture That Changes Everything

We have installed displays from every major manufacturer. We have come to believe in Sony above all of them. Not because of a logo on a spec sheet. Because of what we see on the wall, in the room, under every lighting condition, year after year.

Sony's Cognitive Processor XR makes everything you watch look the way the director intended. Skin tones look human. Motion looks natural. Dark scenes have depth without crushing detail into black. It is the difference between a TV that impresses you in a showroom and one that satisfies you in your home, every single day.

Every display we install is sourced through trusted professional distribution channels. No retail uncertainty, no gray market. And with native Apple AirPlay 2, Google TV, HDMI 2.1, and Dolby Vision, every Bravia fits cleanly into the Control4 and Lutron ecosystems we build around it.

The VIP Difference

Sourced. Specified. Installed. Integrated.

Professionally Sourced

Every Sony display we install is procured through trusted professional distribution: factory sealed, current model, at the right price. No retail uncertainty, no gray market sourcing.

Expert Specification

Picking the right Sony Bravia for each room takes more than reading a spec sheet. We assess ambient light, viewing distance, room scale, and how the space is actually used, then specify the right True RGB, QD-OLED, or Mini LED model for the result you want.

Precision Installation

No exposed cables. No crooked mounts. No visible hardware. We design every Sony TV installation around the architecture of the room, with optimal height, angle, concealed wiring, and structural precision. Articulating, fixed, and recessed mounts available for any room.

Smart Home Integration

Every Sony Bravia integrates into your Control4, Lutron, or Apple Home system. One button turns on the display, sets the input, dims the lights, and lowers the shades. No remotes to juggle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Sony Bravia

What is Sony True RGB and how is it different from Mini LED?

Conventional Mini LED uses thousands of white LEDs paired with a quantum dot color layer to produce color. Sony True RGB replaces that with individually controlled red, green, and blue Mini LEDs, driven by the RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro. The result is a wider color gamut, higher peak brightness (independently measured at roughly 4,000 nits on the Bravia 9 II), better off axis viewing, and black levels that approach OLED in a real living room.

True RGB, OLED, or conventional Mini LED?

True RGB (Bravia 9 II and 7 II) is now the top of Sony's lineup, ideal for great rooms and media rooms where high brightness and wide color matter. OLED (A95L and Bravia 8 II) still delivers the deepest blacks and infinite contrast, ideal for dark, light controlled rooms. Conventional Mini LED (Bravia 5) is the right call when budget or scale matters more than peak performance. Many homes use a mix: True RGB in the living room, OLED in the theater, Mini LED in secondary spaces.

What sizes does Sony True RGB come in?

The Bravia 9 II is available in 65", 75", 85", and 115" (the 115" arrives this fall). The Bravia 7 II is available in 50", 55", 65", 75", 85", and 98" (the 50" and 98" arrive this summer). That covers everything from a guest bedroom to a theater-scale screening wall.

What does the Sony Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II cost?

Sony's announced US MSRPs are: Bravia 9 II True RGB at $3,599.99 (65"), $4,599.99 (75"), $6,499.99 (85"), and $30,999.99 (115"). Bravia 7 II True RGB at $1,599.99 (50"), $2,099.99 (55"), $2,599.99 (65"), $3,099.99 (75"), $3,999.99 (85"), and $8,999.99 (98"). Pricing is for the display itself and does not include installation, mounting, or integration. We are happy to walk through the right model and size for your room as part of a consultation.

What size display should I get?

It depends on viewing distance and room size. At 8 to 10 feet, a 75 to 85 inch display is typically ideal. At 6 to 8 feet, 65 inch works well. For large great rooms at 12+ feet, consider 85 to 98 inch, or the new 115 inch Bravia 9 II for a true theater-scale wall. We assess your specific room and recommend the right size during consultation.

What's the difference between the A95L and the Bravia 8 II?

The A95L is Sony's 2023 QD-OLED flagship, now produced in 77 inch only. The Bravia 8 II is the 2025 successor available in 55 inch and 65 inch, built on the second generation QD-OLED panel with approximately 25% higher peak brightness, wider color volume, and refined XR processing. For 77 inch QD-OLED, the A95L remains the only option, and it still performs at reference grade.

Can you distribute video to every TV in the house?

Yes. We install 4K HDR video distribution systems that send any source to any screen. Watch Apple TV in one room, pause, and resume in another. All managed from your Control4 app or any keypad. To explore the various smart home platforms we work with, check out our Integration and Control section.

Do you handle the mounting and wiring?

Everything. We select the right mount type (articulating, fixed, tilt, or in-wall recessed), run power and HDMI inside the wall, and position the display at the optimal height and angle. The finished install looks intentional and architectural, not aftermarket.

What about soundbars and audio?

For the best experience, we recommend dedicated speakers rather than soundbars, whether that is Focal in wall speakers, Stealth Acoustics invisible speakers, Episode architectural speakers, or a full Atmos theater system. Sony's new BRAVIA Theater Trio, announced alongside the True RGB lineup, is also an excellent option for rooms where a dedicated three speaker system is the right fit.
